Individual Note: Pat and Garry were involved in a tragic train/vehicle accident on July 19th, 1997. Pat did not survive the accident and Garry sustained major injuries. Pat died at the age of 55 years, 5 months and 5 days old. Garry spent almost three months in a hospital but did recover.
Pat is buried in her home town of Rockwall, Tx at the Rest Haven Cemetery. She was a wonderful person and her loss has been felt by many.
Pat lived a full and happy life and enjoyed 'simple things' like looking and shopping for antiques. She collected the ones that meant a lot to her such as special green glass ware, Jewell Tea plates, cups, and etc. Over the years she had collected many other items such as an old butter churn, a 'rub board' and many 'older' kitchen items including pewter plates. She particularly liked old 'name brand items' such as Morton salt, etc. She was a good shopper who could look for hours in antique stores and many times not buy anything. And, when she did buy an item it was because it had a special meaning and value to her. She took pride in the many bargains she found over the years but would not consider selling even one item.
Pat and Garry were very happy and spent as much time together as their business would allow. Pat loved to travel and looked forward to the trips they would take in their RV. She loved RVing and felt 'at home' in their 5th wheel trailer.
Pat was a wonder wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren all loved her and enjoyed the times when their 'Nana' would pick one or all of them up and bring them home for the day. She had a special relationship with her daughter, Becky. They often went shopping together and to the First Monday Trade days, in Canton, TX. Becky thought of her not only as her mother but also as her best friend. Pat also had a good relationship with her son, Terrell. They were a alike in many ways and both enjoyed the outdoors. They would often talk about trees, gardening, Terrell's horses and cows or other outdoor topics.
Pat was looking forward to when She and Garry would build their dream home on the beautiful twenty acres they had bought in 1985. She knew their grandsons would especially love spending week-ends at their 'Papa and Nana's farm.
Although Pat loved and enjoyed her grandsons, she was hopeful that someday she would have a granddaughter to 'spoil' and one to form a special relationship with. Unfortunately, Pat died just five months before her new granddaughter, Dawsyn Jean, was born. Dawsyn is Terrell's beautiful little girl and Pat would have been very proud of her.
