PICKENS FAMILIES OF THE SOUTH, by E. M. Sharp:
p. 74. "... Willis RICHARDSON [may be] a son of Thomas and Jane RICHARDSON of Maury County.
In 'Minute book 1849-53' for Maury County, dated Jan 6, 1851, there appears Ordered that Jonathan S. HUNT, be appointed guardian of, Matthew G. RICHARDSON, Margaret RICHARDSON, Mary E. PICKENS, Elizabeth PICKENS, Matthew G. PICKENS, Lovey C. DAVIS, Josephine C. DAVIS and Francis J. HOLLINGSWORTH., minor heirs of Thomas and Jane RICHARDSON. HUNT made bond with Allen RICHARDSON.
In December 1850, 'Jane RICHARDSON, late citizen of Maury County is dead. She died intestate leaving some estate to be administered. Letters of administration to Allen RICHARDSON.
It is our tentative theory that Thomas and Jane RICHARDSON were parents of:
1. Allen RICHARDSON, who served as administrator.
2. Willis RICHARDSON who married Margaret PICKENS.
3. Jane RICHARDSON who married Matthew G. PICKENS.
4. A daughter who married a DAVIS.
It may be that Matthew G. RICHARDSON and Margaret RICHARDSON, above, are children of Willis and Margaret PICKENS RICHARDSON."
