Individual Note: Note: On Allie's death certificate, his father is listed a Bud and the mother is listed as unknown. However, in the Ludlow cemetery are two matching headstones...side by side. One says Bud Leigh 1862-1922 and the other says Nancy Floyd Leigh 1862-1933 which is assumed to be Bud's wife and the mother of Allie.

Individual Note: On JAN 23, 1910 on a farm near Cove, Ark., Homer Lee McDaniel and Mattie Arlene Williams were married in the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jack Williams. Following their marriage the young couple lived on a farm for a year before they moved to Oklahoma. They stayed in Oklahoma about three years before they moved to Nogal, New Mexico.
When World War I came along"Pa", as he was affectionately called, enlisted in the Aviation Corps serving overseas several months. In 1921 the family filed on a homestead north of Carrizozo. This farm later became part of the J. B. French ranch. They moved back to Nogal in 1923. A year later "Pa" took over the Nogal Post Office and was also appointed Justice of the Peace. Those were boisterous days for the little community, gang fights were common between the young men of Nogal and Capitan.
During the years to follow "Pa" kept busy at various jobs, working at the Bonito Dam as a carpenter, driving a school bus, farming for awhile in Las Vegas, New Mexico and jailer in Carrizozo under Sheriff Allie Stover.
Due to poor health he retired from active work in 1950.

Individual Note: Noah was in the Confederate Army and when it ended, he returned to Leake County, MS. This where Rebecca Eubanks was living. Rebecca lost her husband, William Bartlett, and was living in Leake Cty with her young son, William Martin. Noah and Rebecca then married. I assume the two families knew each other...however, I do not know this for sure.
Noah and Rebecca married in Leake County on Nov 26, 1865. Marriage Certificate shows J N Moore signed the license. They had several children and later moved to the Hatfield, AR area. Interestingly, William Martin married Lula Moore in Arkansas. I am not sure if this is the same Moore family that JN Moore is from.........Garry Eubanks Sept 1st, 2000
