Wiley Kelley's uncle was to have started the Kelley cemetery in Zama, which is James Kelley who was a brother to Wiley's dad John C. Kelly. John is probably buried there with a rock showing his resting place. There were a lot of large rock tombstones there.

     Possibly VA
The information I have on Isaac and Elizabeth is as follows. Isaac was born on 12/9/1787 in Tn. He was a farmer by trade. Also served in the War of 1812 under the command of Gen Andrew Jackson. Was in the battle of Horseshoe Bend during war against the Creek Indians and against the British in the defense of New Orleans. He married Elizabeth Smith from Harlan Cty, Ky (around 1811). I do not have a lot of information on Elizabeth at this time. I assume she was born in Ky. I have researched a little for her there but have not made any progress so far. She died in 1829 and the Isaac married Elizabeth Bowers Lindsey. If you would like to email me direct I will send the information about their children and other ancestors of Isaac. My work one is bertinm@@guilford.k12.nc.us and home is OliveBerting@@aol.com. It is easier to reach me at the work one. Mae Berting

Individual Note:

The Martin family from Middlesex Co., NJ is well documented, and part of this family is in this file. I have not figured out the link.

The Martin and Trotter families are also related in New Jersey, and one Trotter spouse's name is "Ashley" which may be Atchley.

One indication, her father may be Franco Martino.

Individual Note:
Joseph Macadee McDaniel, father of Homer Lee was raised in Tx. He moved to AR in the Hatfield, Cove area as a young man. It is believed he homestead in this area.

When he married Mary Cheek he had a home all ready for her as he was more than decade older than she, and looking towards the future. All of Joseph and Mary McDaniels children were born in this home.

Sometime in 1905 he built a new home with two stories for his family. In 1910 or there about, he sold out and moved his family to Smithville, OK, where the family lived until June of 1922. They then moved on to Nogal, New Mexico.

They were very loved parents. Dessie says that she remembers their first Surry with the fring on top, her mothers first washing machine and sewing machine. She also says there was always plenty to eat as the farm was a good one and a great place to grow up and live.

        YATE-ENGLISH-originally meant "gatekeeper"

        A FEW NOTES ON YATES

There have been many Yates' in America from the earliest days. Most of them came from England and lived from New England to the Carolinas. They were among the early pioneers who moved west to settle in Kentucky and TN. Most of the settlers of these states came out of VA and NC. Those of German and Scot Irish ancestry originally came from the old country to settle in Pennsylvania and later spread south and westward.

(by William Yates formerly of San Jose, CA. now of Denver, CO.) from memeographed book by Ellen Byrne "Notes on the Yates family"

From tombstone inscriptions and history manuscripts by Acklen: Rev. soldier's graves in Robertson County, TN: WM. YATES, LT. COL. 11 Apr 1777 found in historical ledgermof Continental Army of Revolution, m. Agnes Price in VA went to NC, Caswell County in 1780. (Bro. of Thomas Yates who married Rebecca Ragsdale.)

Early English immigrants consisted, basically, of two different groups who settled in two different places: the Puritans in Massachusetts and the Cavaliers in Virginia. (Yates Family History, American Genealogical Research Institute, p. 11.)

Between 1642-49 Puritans and Royalists left for the New World. Cavaliers left for Virginia as a result of Cromwell's final victory over Charles I. Yates Family History, American Genealogical Research Institute, p. 15.)
