OBITUARY:Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm Wednesday for David Rance
Baker, 69, of 1150 McKinley Ave., who died at 4am Monday in Schumpert Hospital
after a sudden illness.
The services will be in First National Funeral Homes chapel, with the Rev.
Glenn Marr, pastor of North Highlands Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will
be in Vivian Cemetery in Vivian.
Mr. Baker had lived in Shreveport the last 32 years. He was a retired
truck driver and a native of Springhill.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Hattie M. Baker; five sons, Roy J.
Baker, Travis Lee Baker, Harold D. Baker, and Elmer Allen Baker, all of
Shreveport, and David L. Baker of Dallas, TX.; five daughters, Mrs. Sybil Gill
of Belcher, Mrs. Lois Shafer, Mrs. Lorene Carter and Mrs. Norma Moon, all of
Shreveport, and Mrs. Barbara Robertson of Oak Grove; one brother, Richard Baker
of Springhill; one sister, Mrs. Lottie Mason of Shreveport; 35 grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbears will be Marvin Green, Leon Lloyd, Lonnie Lloyd, Jimmy Williams,
Jody Robertson, and Phillip Milazzo.
