OBITUARY: Magnolia Banner News, June 25, 1910: Mrs. Treacy, wife of Charles
D. Booth, was born April 5th 1830, and died May 23rd 1910. She was the mother
of eleven children, 7 of which are stilll living, four boys and three girls,
four having proceeded her to the beulah land. 43 grand children, and 15 great
grandchildren. She professed faith in Christ at the age of 19 years, but never
joined any church, but was a firm believer in the Missionary Baptist doctrine.
She was a devoted wife and a patient mother.
Her last illness was brief. she meekly bowed to the will of the Father,
was passed over the chilly waters of death and landed her bark on the other
shore, with the redeemed that have gone before, where she is standing beckoning
her children to come to her. None except those who knew her in her home life,
can properly appreciate her patience and kindness as wife and mother. she was
ever gentle, sympathetic and loving.
No duty was too great for her to undertake for her loved ones. How
desolate is the home without her, how the loved ones shall sigh for the touch
of the banished hand and sound of the loving brace.
She was laid to rest in Salem Cemetary, with services conducted by the
writer. T. J. Brasher.
