Carl and Caroline Schulz Kuss were both from the town of Menkin in Mecklenburg, Prussia. He was a son of Christian Kuss and Maree Bunge. She was a daughter of Wilhelm Schulz and Christine Procase. They married in 1862. Carl with his wife, Caroline and their two sons, Adolph and Carl, emigrated from Prussia to Queensland, Austra- lia 1865. They lated settled in Marburg. Descendants live in Australia.
