Individual Note: Kirk was born March 16th, 1986. He died from a seizure that stopped his heart on March 30, 2007. He was a junior, majoring in psychology, at the University of Arkansas in Fort Smith. Kirk’s greatest love, after his family and friends, was martial arts. He began training at the age of one year. He couldn’t walk very well, but he could kick. By age 5, he was winning tournaments all over the country. He seemed to have a natural ability for the martial arts. He had incredible speed, great balance and agility. And, he had the warrior spirit. He obtained special compensation at age 15 to be allowed to test for his black belt. He passed the adult test and impressed all on the board with his knowledge and ability. He went on to win the Arkansas State Karate black belt division Championship, three years in a row and was undefeated. Representatives from the AAU approached him to try out for the 2008 Olympic trials. He and his family was very excited about this opportunity. Unfortunately, his death precluded this.

Individual Note: Lou Maxine Hoskins
Lou Maxine Hoskins November 8, 1936 - May 18, 2005 We honor and celebrate the life of our mom Our precious mother's legal name was Lou Maxine Hoskins, but we simply knew her as 'Mom'. Mom was born in Smithville, Oklahoma, on November 8, 1936 to Earl and Beatrice Atchley, who are now deceased. She was the sixth of twelve children and she was loved by all other brothers and sisters, some of whom preceded her in death: Clifford Dean, Ralph, George, Odis, Bob, Jerry, and James. Our dad also preceded her in death on September 6, 1990. Mom married our dad, Clifford Ray Hoskins on August 4, 1959, in Pratt, Kansas. They made their home in Okeene, Oklahoma where we were raised. Connie was the first born, on November 25, 1960. She is now married to Joe Alsobrook and lives in St Charles, MO with their two sons, Micah and Jordan. Tina came along later, on September 29, 1962. She's married to Dean Harper and lives in Edmond, OK. with their two sons, Brice and Brian. Mom's work ethic was probably one other strongest qualities She always worked hard and made sure everyone was taken care of. She continued to run her business, Top-Ten Drive Inn for over thirty years, until 1996, when she finally gave herself permission to retire. Mom stayed in Okeene for six more years, until she moved back to Edmond, Oklahoma, where she had spent most of her earlier years, to be close to family. She lived in a senior's apartment there for two years where she was able to meet some wonderful friends. She remained there until she became ill with cancer and could no longer take care of herself. She then moved to St Charles, MO where she finished her life with Connie and her family. Both of mom's girls were by her side at the end other life on May 18, 2005 just as she would have wanted it. Mom leaves family members, and many dear friends behind that will forever cherish memories of her until we all meet again in heaven. Those family members are two daughters and their families: Connie, Joe, Micah, and Jordan Alsobrook of St. Charles, MO; Tina, Dean, Brice and Brian Harper of Edmond, OK; one brother CE Atchley of Paris, AK; three sisters, Nadine Carter of Nicoma Park, OK; Vermade Daniels of Midland, TX, and Sue Symes, of Edmond, OK. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, May 23, 2005 at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, OK. Barnes & Johnson Funeral Home 1820 S. Douglas Blvd Midwest City 733-2991
Note: In some Atchley records, it shows Maxine's full name as being
Lou Earlene Maxine Bernice Atchley, although she went by Maxine. I ask Pattie Atchley, whom is knowledgable to the extended Atchley family and she said that to her knowledge, this was Maxine's full name. Pattie also said her children spoke of her having these names. I have listed her in our family genealogy data file as Maxine bernice because of space.
